The Athens Bicycle Co-operative

Athens, Ohio has a non-profit organization of volunteers that fix and play with bikes. The intent being to create a community of people who can enjoy bikes to their fullest. To do this we need a very active and savvy bike community. We further this goal by fixing bikes, teaching volunteers about bikes, creating an environment where volunteers can teach themselves about bikes, planning bike related events, and creating ways of getting more bikes to more people.

New Arrivals!

Many thanks to the University Courtyard Apartments for donating their clipped bikes! Today we received our second delivery of bikes from UCA, 13 of them this time! That's almost 30 bikes that they've given us so far, so as a thank-you we will be placing their logo on some of the bike taxis.

Many of them are either Roadmaster or Huffy brand, suitable for taxi service. There weren't any cool old road bikes like last time, though the general condition of this lot is better than the last one.

  4. Hi! I'm helping organize Ohio U's annual Earth Day celebration and I was wondering if the co-op has any events scheduled for the month of April. I'd like to include them on our calendar as long as they are free, open to the public, and take place in Athens. Please email me at an235806@ohio.edu if you have any events you'd like to add. And keep up the great work!

    Thanks,
